Pilikula Golf Club – Profile

Pilikula Golf Club is part of the Pilikula Nisarga Dhama Trust and has been laid out in sylvan surroundings. The club is located 12 kilometers from Mangalore. The Golf Club was established by a elite group of Mangaloreans, who use the course on all days of the week, particularly during the weekends. The current strength of the club is about 601 members. The categories of membership granted are – Chartered Members, Life Members, Permanent Members, Service Members and Corporate Members.

The Golf Club is managed by 12 governing body members, out of which 6 members are government representatives and the other 6 members are elected from among the members. The Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada is a keen golfer, and is the president of the golf club. He presides over the managing committee.

The golf course is a 18 hole, Par 72, which has nine Greens (9 x 2 and two Holes per Green) with the range 6095 yards. We have the latest machinery and equipments for upto-date maintenance of the fairways and greens. During monsoon, the play is somewhat restricted, as one would have a stop and go game depending on the rains. However, our course is well designed for the water to run off as soon as the rain stops.

Our Club House was completed in November 2005, and has a great future for the ambience & settings within the Pilikula forestry. As most of our members are also members of the 3 major clubs in Mangalore, we will have no problems accommodating visiting members, at these clubs. We now have a full fledged guest house with 7 guest rooms with restaurant & bar facilities. Besides lots of parking space is available for parking visitors vehicles. We have also have a open hall in the club house, suitable for conducting birthday, anniversary and other parties regularly. With the expansion of tourism, SEZs, international airport and major expenditure on road infrastructure in Karnataka, Mangalore has a scope for development, and we are also planning to raise our membership to over 750 members.

We conduct regular tournaments, which attracts golfers from other member clubs in the state. A major tournament is held every year during the last week of January.
